Who We Are
The Karen Weidinger Foundation (KWF) is 501(c)3 foundation founded in honor of our dear friend Karen. We are located in St. Charles, Missouri and are fully-staffed by volunteers. Our focus is bringing breast cancer awareness to our community, as well as providing compassion for those currently undergoing breast cancer treatments in St. Charles and surrounding counties. Every dollar that we have raised stays right here in our community. The KWF continues to seek support from individuals and corporations in and around the community. To date we have raised and given away over $200,000 to help individuals and families right in our back yard cope with the struggles of overcoming this deadly disease. This was made possible by a variety of fundraisers, including the annual "Karen Weidinger Memorial Golf Tournament". "Karen 4 A Kause (K4AK) 5K Fun Run/Walk and Children's Mad Dash Against Cancer" and "GOT PINK? Auction".
- In 2004, the KWF raised $5000 for local charities.
- In 2005, the KWF made a $12,000 donation to SSM St. Joseph's H.W. Koenig Cancer Center.
- In 2006, the KWF made a $32,000 donation to SSM St. Joseph's H.W. Koenig Cancer Center.
- In 2007, the KWF made a $38,000 donation to SSM St. Joseph's H.W. Koenig Cancer Center.
- In 2008, the KWF made a $28,000 donation to the SSM St. Joseph Foundation
- In 2009, the KWF made a $30,000 donation to the SSM St. Joseph Foundation
- In 2010, the KWF made a $40,000 donation to the SSM St. Joseph Foundation

Karen Weidinger was diagnosed with breast cancer June of 2002. She battled breast cancer through multiple treatments of chemotherapy and radiation, surgery and numerous medications. After a brief remission, Karen’s breast cancer returned in the fall of 2003 and then took her life in March of 2004.
Karen loved boating, bicycling, outdoors, volunteer work, enjoyed many friends and was a treasure to her family. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on. Karen was focused on helping others understand breast cancer and getting informed decisions on their best treatment options.
She never gave up hope that she would win against her battle with breast cancer. Her family and friends have kept her spirit alive through the Karen Weidinger Foundation and continue to fight the battle in which she courageous fought against breast cancer.
